BJ Services Company Nigeria Limited, a business unit of BJ Process and Pipeline Services (BJ PPS), has been awarded two contracts by Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC). The contracts provide for pipeline cleaning, stuck pig recovery, descaling and auxiliary pumping support services to be carried out in Nigeria.

SPDC awarded the multi-million dollar contracts to support its Eastern Division operations in the land and swamp areas of the Niger Delta region.

The two-year contracts include a one year option to renew, and are being supported by BJ PPS personnel and equipment at the company's permanent bases located in Port Harcourt Nigeria.

"We have been providing pipeline maintenance and pre-commissioning services to SPDC in Nigeria since 1998 through individual project contracts. The new pipeline cleaning, stuck pig recovery, descaling and auxiliary pumping support services contracts are significant because they represent the first time that BJ Services Company Nigeria Ltd has been awarded call-off contracts directly by SPDC-Nigeria," said Lindsay Link, general manager for BJ PPS. "With our dedicated team of technicians, engineers and state-of-the-art equipment, we look forward to continuing to provide Shell with rapid response, and quality service in Nigeria," he added.
