The high specification A60 fire rated mobile analytical laboratory cabins will be installed in the challenging environment of the Tengiz oilfield in Western Kazakhstan. The laboratories will house reservoir fluid analysis equipment to be used for an intense oil and gas characterization and monitoring program during the early years of a high profile sour gas injection project. The laboratories have been specially designed to provide optimum safety for personnel working within the particularly hazardous environment.
Core Labıs client Tengizchevroil (TC0) is investing more than $4 billion to develop the "super giant" Tengiz oil field and Korolev oil field in the Zhylyoiski region on the northeast coast of the Caspian Sea. The sour gas injection and second generation project will dramatically increase Tengiz oilfield production from 13 million to 25 million tons of oil per year.
From the initial brief, the laboratories were completed on time within just 10 weeks.
Labtech managing director Jim Manson said: "The two laboratories which were designed for this extremely high profile project mark Labtechıs 10th anniversary of activity in the Caspian region and represent the latest piece of work in our long standing relationship with Core Lab.
"Our cabins are used by clients in all the worldıs major oil and gas regions and we are committed to serving the industryıs requirements wherever they may be."
Core Lab UK Fluids Operations Manager Andy Williamson said: "The analytical services provided by our company will play a very important role in monitoring the progress and success of this project. It was important, therefore, that the laboratories in which this vital work will be done were of the very highest industry standards.
"Labtech is the supplier of choice in international modular engineering and, once again, has delivered on time and within budget."
