West Energy Makes Discovery at Violet Grove Prospect

West Energy has cased its initial exploration prospect (Violet Grove) of its Pembina Nisku drilling program in central Alberta. The new pool wildcat encountered a hydrocarbon column in a Nisku Bank reef. A service rig will be moved onto the location immediately to confirm the presence of hydrocarbons and determine the productive capacity of the Nisku zone. Depending on the completion results, West plans to follow-up the discovery with additional drilling. West is paying 100% of the costs to drill and complete the well and will receive 68% of the production.

In the next few days, the drilling rig will move to West's second Nisku exploration prospect in the area, near the town of Lodgepole. The Lodgepole well is anticipated to take 32 days to reach total depth. West has a 100% working interest in the Lodgepole well and any potential future development locations.
