Northern Sun Successfully Completes Kapawe'no Well

Northern Sun reports the successful completion of its first exploration test well on the Kapawe'no First Nation Reserve near Grouard, Alberta. The well was drilled to a depth of 850 meters targeting BlueSky / Gething gas trends, and has been successfully completed and flow-tested. A pipeline tie-in to a third party facility is currently being surveyed and regulatory approvals should be in place for gas sales in the near future.

Chris Cooper, President & CEO, commented "Having success in our first well is great news for Northern Sun and the Kapawe'no Nation. We've recently acquired additional lands that we believe are on trend with existing anomalies at Grouard, and are negotiating various pooling agreements with industry partners in order to drill additional wells".

The Company has also completed its 24 kilometer 2D seismic program over a portion of the Grouard lands. The seismic has been processed and evaluated and several prospective targets have been selected for further exploration drilling later this year.

At St. Albert, site of a second exploratory well, Northern Sun drilled to a depth of 1400 meters targeting oil in the Ostracod formation. The well was not successful and was abandoned.
