ONGC Issues Tender for 12-Rig Upgrade

On October 15th, ONGC issued international competitive bids for the upgrade and refurbishment of 12 rigs operating at various onshore locations in India.

"ONGC has more than 50 rigs operating onshore," an ONGC official tells PETROWATCH. "We plan to take up the refurbishment of all these in a phased manner." Bidders will be allowed four weeks for submission of their techno-commercial offers from date of clarifications from ONGC as a sequel to a pre-bid conference scheduled on December 2, 2004 in Baroda.

"The closing and opening date of the tender will be announced during the pre-bid itself." The bidder or the consortium should have a minimum five years experience of manufacturing or packaging of land drilling rigs. The bidder should also have supplied at least five land drilling rigs during the last 10 years. "Parties will also be required to submit documentary evidence as proof of supply from their respective clients."
