Wood Group Wins Shell North Sea Work

Wood Group Engineering has been reappointed by Shell to provide engineering design, maintenance, support and construction services (EMSC) to its onshore assets at St. Fergus Gas Plant, Fife FNGL Plant at Mossmorran, Fife Braefoot Bay Terminal plus offshore support for the Goldeneye platform. The 3 facilities process Natural Gas Liquids coming from offshore facilities into higher value components such as Methane and Ethane.

The contract, worth approximately 25million over two years, will secure employment for around 200 Wood Group employees at Shell's three onshore sites and in Aberdeen.

Les Thomas, Group Director responsible for Production Facilities said, "Wood Group is delighted to have been re-awarded this significant onshore contract. Shell's decision to reappoint the Group is testimony to our safety record, plus our technical and cost management skills."

Commenting on the contract extension Mark Pattenden, Operations Manager for Northern Systems and Plants, said: "Shell is committed to the North Sea as a strategic heartland, and this means we will continue to improve our safety and efficiency across all operations. We aim to ensure this contract extension is one of the factors that will allow us to meet these challenges."
