The Alamein-31 infill well, producing from a new reservoir horizon (Middle Bahariya), was drilled on the northeast flank of the Alamein field to a total depth of 6,815 feet, and encountered oil pay in four Cretaceous reservoir horizons - the Abu Roash G Dolomite, the Middle Bahariya sand, the Basal Bahariya sands, and the Razzak sands, totaling 61 feet of net pay. The well was dual completed in the Middle Bahariya and Razzak sands. The Abu Roash G Dolomite and Lower Bahariya reservoirs will be left for future testing and production. The Bahariya sand in Al-31 is currently producing 350 BOPD (37 degree API gravity) on pump with no water cut.
Immediately following the success of Alamein-31, the Alamein-33 infill development well was drilled to a total depth of 6,805 feet in the western portion of the Alamein field. Oil pay was also encountered in four Cretaceous reservoir horizons - the Abu Roash G Dolomite, the Upper Bahariya sand, the Middle Bahariya sand, and the Razzak sands, totaling 98 ft of net pay. Alamein-33 was subsequently dual completed in the Middle Bahariya and Razzak sands with the Abu Roash G Dolomite and Upper Bahariya reservoirs left for future testing and production. The well is still cleaning up and is currently producing 503 BOPD (37ĒŠAPI gravity) from the two horizons.
IPRTOC plans to continue its infill drilling operations in the Alamein field later this year, which will target deeper reservoir objectives in the Cretaceous Aptian sand section.
