Norway's PSA Gives Okay to Hydro for Use of Deepsea Delta

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Norsk Hydro an extension of a previous consent to use the semisub Deepsea Delta for production drilling on Oseberg and Tune.

On April 15, 2004, Hydro was granted consent to use the Deepsea Delta to drill exploration well 30/11-6 Brontes.

The extension covers the following activities:

  • Recompletion of well B-51H, production license 053.
  • Production drilling of one well on Tune, production licenses 034 and 190.
  • Production drilling of three wells on Vestflanken, production license 053.

  • Well B-51H is a subsea well from a template with a pipeline tied in to Oseberg A. Vestflanken is a development tied in to the Oseberg field center.

    Estimated duration of the activities is 15 months with start-up planned for October 4, 2004, depending on the rig's preceding activities.
