Subsea 7 Integrated Remote Technologies (IRT) division has been awarded a series of contracts for the ROVSV DSND Surveyor by MODEC and ConocoPhillips for work in the East Timor Zone of Co-operation, South East Asia.

The scope of work for MODEC includes detailed ROV inspection of flexible risers and mooring chains associated with the Floating Turret Buoy which is located in the Elang field in Area A of the East Timor Zone of Co-operation in water depths of 120m.

ConocoPhillips originally awarded Subsea 7 IRT a contract to perform pipeline inspection and environmental sampling of the seabed on the Bayu-Darwin pipeline in water depths of approx 100-120m. However, an additional 10 days work for pipeline stabilisation using ROV deployed grout bags has subsequently been awarded. The work will continue into early September.

Subsea 7 IRT's Asia Pacific General Manager Steve Bell commented, "The award of these contracts is important to the development of the IRT business in the Asia Pacific region and follow a couple of significant ROV contract awards in Australia which has enabled us to increase the resources available in the region. We are confident of securing further work for the vessel on completion of this project. The ROVSV DSND Surveyor comes as a spread which includes a Diablo workclass ROV and integrated survey and positioning systems."
