Mr. Lund perceives Statoil to be a strong company, both industrially and financially - with considerable opportunities and manageable challenges. He emphasises that the organization comprises able and enthusiastic people who are more than ready to tackle new challenges.
"Statoil has a position to maintain, and we will strengthen our global competitiveness by developing our employees," he observes.
The chief executive believes that three eras have characterized the group over the past 30 years or so, with a transition from establishment and commercialization to privatization. His aim is to develop Statoil into a globally competitive company and a unique employer.
Statoil's position as a preferred partner, both nationally and internationally, is to be maintained and further enhanced.
"Statoil has a robust strategy and an organization with a high level of expertise and integrity," he comments. "We have a strong basis for the further development of the group."
