Royale Energy Makes Gas Discovery in California

Royale Energy has made a new California Natural Gas Discovery at its Andrus Island prospect. This is the first well of the current 11 well drilling schedule. The well was drilled to 9,500 ft. and found 45 ft. of natural gas filled sands in multiple formations.

The well has been completed and tested with a production rate of 1,400 MCF per day. The drilling rig has been moved to the Company's nearby Duck Slough prospect and has commenced drilling.

Royale Energy is scheduled to drill ten more natural gas prospects in the Sacramento Basin through the summer and fall of 2004. Another well is being permitted on the Company's Moon Canyon acreage in the Rocky Mountains.
