Phillips 66 Awards Texas Terminal Project to CB&I

Phillips 66 has awarded CB&I a contract to increase storage capacity at its liquid products terminal in Nederland, Texas, CB&I reported Tuesday.

“This is our third project for Phillips 66 at this terminal, where we are currently building five similar crude storage tanks,” Luke V. Scorsone, CB&I’s executive vice president for fabrication services, said in a written statement. “As the industry’s most experienced tank builder, we can deliver the safety, quality and schedule performance our customers expect and rely on.”

CB&I said that its scope of work under its latest Phillips 66 contract includes engineering, procuring, fabricating and erecting three large crude oil storage tanks with external steel pontoon-type floating roofs. According to Phillips 66, the terminal currently boasts 41 tanks for storing 2.4 million barrels of refined products and another 25 tanks with 4.7 million barrels of crude oil storage capacity.
