ConocoPhillips Halts Production at Belida Platform
ConocoPhillips has stopped production from its Belida Platform offshore Indonesia in the Natuna Sea after an incident with the Atwood Beacon, Indonesia's energy watchdog BP Migas said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Platform B and production has been shut-in from that platform. Prior to the incident, production from the platform had been around 17,000 barrels per day of oil.
"The Atwood Beacon was undergoing pre-load testing while positioned next to Belida. The rig suddenly listed 20 degrees to starboard. About 107 people were evacuated by lifeboat to another platform safely. No injures were reported," the BP Migas Officical said.
"Work to put platform-B back into production is underway. We expect production to resume as soon as possible, because this incident will affect national production."
