BP Makes 'Valuable Addition' to Board

BP plc has made a ‘valuable addition’ to its board with the election of Melody Meyer as non-executive director, according to BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg.

“With a deep understanding of the factors influencing safe, efficient and commercially high-performing projects in a global organization, she will bring an additional world-class operational perspective to the board,” Svanberg said in a company statement.

Meyer has extensive experience in the global oil and gas industry, with 37 years of service under Chevron, including senior leadership roles internationally. She started her career with Gulf Oil in Houston. Gulf Oil later merged with Chevron where she remained until her retirement in 2016.
