Around 60 current and former members of BP plc will set off on a 250 mile, 3-day cycle on May 21, in an effort to raise money for four separate charities.

The event, which will see cyclists ride from Gretna Green to Aberdeen, aims to raise GBP 60,000 ($77,986). At the time of writing, the cyclists had received GBP 57,066 ($74,172) in donations.

The ninth BP Coast 2 Coast event is supporting the 77th Glasgow (Disabled) Scout Troop, which looks after over 70 kids with varying degrees of physical disability, MND Scotland, which is the only Scottish charity providing care and support to people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Friends of Roxburghe House, which helps the Roxburgh House specialist palliative care unit in Aberdeen, and CREW, which helps vulnerable communities battle the impact of drugs and alcohol.
