Report: Search Underway for Missing North Sea Rig Worker

A search operation is underway for a man reported missing from the Noble Lloyd Noble drilling rig in the North Sea’s Mariner field, the BBC reported Wednesday.

An alarm was raised at around 21:20 BST on Tuesday after a search of the rig failed to locate him, according to the BBC, which revealed that a search and rescue helicopter, two standby vessels and a platform supply vessel are involved in the search.

"Our priorities are the safety of all the personnel on board, assisting in the search operation for the missing person and supporting next of kin and colleagues of the missing person,” Noble Drilling was quoted as stating by the BBC.

"All operations have been stood down on the rig,” the company added.
