The Chair of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Select Committee, Iain Wright, has announced that he will be standing down.

In a message posted on Twitter, Wright said that while it had been an enormous privilege to serve his home town in parliament, he “would like to do other things”.
The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee is appointed by the House of Commons to examine the administration, expenditure and policy of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and its associated public bodies.
