MANILA, Feb 27 (Reuters) - The Philippines is waiting for clarity on its relations with China before lifting a suspension on exploration in disputed areas in the South China Sea, its energy minister said on Monday.

It is being studied whether it is "high time to lift the suspension," Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi told Reuters in an interview.

Cusi said any exploration activities would require approval of the Philippine foreign ministry, which was responsible for consultations with China.

I would like to stick a pole to the bottom of the oceans, have a USA flag sticking above water - claim it as a sovereign USA Island, and claim 200 miles around it as mine! I could own entire Oceans that way ! Everyone needs to go back to Country Borders and Boundaries at the moment WW2 ended. 1945-1947. What the heck is United Nations windbag created for after WW2?

The exploration activity should also be presented to the Filipino people by way of congress to be sure that we dont get more shaft than rice. Why should the future of the disputed areas is south china sea be left alone to one agency.
