Gazpromneft-Sakhalin: Ayashsky License Drilling Work to be Done in Summer
Gazpromneft-Sakhalin, a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft, revealed Wednesday that it expects all drilling work on a prospecting and appraisal well at the Ayashsky license block to be completed during summer this year.
The company has signed a contract with Hakuryu 5, Inc (a 100-percent-owned subsidiary of Japan Drilling Co., Ltd., Japan) regarding the leasing of a drilling rig for work at the Ayashsky block, located on the continental shelf of the Sea of Okhotsk.
“Gazprom Neft continues to investigate all of the company’s license blocks located on Russia’s continental shelf,” Andrey Patrushev, deputy CEO for shelf projects development at Gazprom Neft, said.
“We are convinced that the unique experience we have accumulated on the Russian Arctic Shelf can be successfully utilized in implementing projects throughout Russia’s other promising oil regions, and that using international best practice in drilling and well testing will ensure safe and effective operations,” he added.
