Pacific E&P Names Barry Larson New CEO
Pacific Exploration & Production (E&P), a Latin America-focused company, will welcome its new CEO Barry Larson Feb. 20.
The appointment comes following completion of a company restructuring on Nov. 2, 2016, purposed to “narrow [Pacific’s] geographic focus and reduce organizational scale, complexity and cost,” Pacific’s former CEO Ronald Pantin retired Nov. 30. Jim Latimer served as interim CEO and will continue until Larson takes over.
Larson has more than 40 years of oil and gas experience and most recently served as COO for Canada-based Parex Resources, Inc. He also served on Pacific’s board of directors. He has stepped down from that position to take the role of CEO.
"We are extremely fortunate that [Larson] has agreed to take on the role of CEO, particularly given his historical success in Colombia, including his recent work at Parex,” Gabriel de Alba, Pacific board chairman,” said in a release. “He is a proven leader and has tremendous international operating experience with a deep understanding of our E&P assets, which has been enhanced through his active fieldwork on behalf of the Board."
