SNP: UK Government's New Energy Department Suffering from Confusion
The UK government's new energy department is suffering from widespread confusion amongst its own staff about its role and responsibilities, the SNP has claimed.

The UK government’s new energy department, created following the abolition of the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), is suffering from widespread confusion amongst its own staff about its role and responsibilities, the SNP has claimed.

The results of an internal staff survey about the role of the UK Government’s BEIS (Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy) Department shows the utter confusion at the heart of the UK government department leading energy strategy, SNP Energy spokesperson Callum McCaig MP said in a statement sent to Rigzone.

“When Theresa May binned the Department of Energy and Climate Change we all knew it was a blunder. Now we know even the staff at this new mega-department don’t even know what it is for,” McCaig said.

“Following the answer I received last month in which I was directed to the DECC website –  a now defunct department  – this survey only compounds the view that there is a real Whitehall farce about who is doing what in Mrs May’s administration,” he added.
