Turkey Should Prioritise LNG Investments To Balance Energy Trade

Reuters

ANKARA, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Turkey needs to prioritise liquified natural gas (LNG) investments for a healthier balance of its natural gas trade, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday.

Turkey is heavily dependent on imports to meet its growing energy demand, widening the current account deficit.

Erdogan said there were a number of companies preparing to make LNG investments, and that he welcomed these investments aimed at diversifying natural gas supplies.
