European and African focused upstream gas company Sound Energy announced Wednesday that the TE-7 well, at the Tendrara license onshore Morocco, has achieved initial flow rates which are “significantly better” than the company’s estimates.
Sound’s second Tendrara well was drilled to a total measured depth of 11,348 feet corresponding to a vertical depth of 8,566 feet. After completing the well and performing an initial, unstimulated, open hole test of the first 28 percent of a discovered gross reservoir interval, a rate of 8.8 million cubic feet per day was achieved after 24 hours of continuous flow with a 32/64 choke.
The company will now complete the planned mechanical stimulation and well test of the entire sub-horizonal section. The post stimulation flow rate results are expected mid-November, after which the company will initiate a planned Extended Well Test to confirm production sustainability and to aid comprehensive field development planning.
