The Australian Wheatstone LNG development is ready to start-up in mid-2017, according to Woodside Petroleum Ltd CEO Peter Coleman.

In preparation for the start-up, the Julimar project, which is a subsea development that will supply raw gas and condensate from the fields to the offshore Wheatstone platform, has completed all construction and commissioning work – on schedule and under budget.

“Wheatstone is a key component of our near-term growth strategy and will contribute over 13 million barrels of oil equivalent of annual production once both trains are fully operational,” said Coleman.

The Wheatstone LNG storage tank one is ready for cooldown and all Train 2 modules are on-site, according to a Woodside statement. The Wheatstone project operator is expecting first LNG from Train 1 in mid-2017 with first LNG from Train 2 expected six to eight months later.

Woodside’s production hit 25.2 million barrels of oil equivalent during the third quarter of 2016, which marked a 13.5 percent increase from the previous quarter. Revenue stood at $988 million which was almost 20 percent more than 2Q 2016.

Production in 3Q 2015 was 25.3 million barrels of oil equivalent, with revenue coming in at 1.08 billion.
