Det Norske Completes Merger with BP Norge, Creates Aker BP

Det norske oljeselskap ASA has completed its merger with BP Norge AS, which was initially announced in June 2016.

As a result, the combined entity formed by Det norske and BP Norge has now changed its name to Aker BP ASA. From and including October 3, Det norske’s shares will trade under the new name and new ticker symbol ‘AKERBP’ on Oslo Børs. The company’s ISIN NO0010345853 will remain unchanged.

The transaction will significantly strengthen the combined company’s operations, cost efficiency and growth potential, enabling the company to initiate dividend payment, said Det norske in a company statement back in June.

Aker BP ASA (Aker BP) and will be headquartered at Fornebuporten, Norway, with Aker ASA (Aker) and BP as main industrial shareholders.
