Lamprell Secures Services Contract with Jacktel AS

Oilfield services company Lamprell plc has secured a new contract from Jacktel AS for the upgrade of the Haven mobile operating unit as an accommodation service vessel for Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup field, offshore Norway.

The scope of work includes the procurement, construction and installation of extended legs and new suction caissons. Lamprell will fabricate the leg sections and suction caissons in its Hamriyah yard in the United Arab Emirates.

Operations are expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2018. The contract is valued at approximately $90 million.

“Lamprell has a well-established track record for undertaking major rig refurbishment projects and so it is pleasing to receive this contract award for work in connection with one of the most prestigious projects in the North Sea,” said Lamprell CEO James Moffat.
