Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Petroleum completed drilling the MNA-17 well in the Manora Oil Development in the Northern Gulf of Thailand, joint venture partner Australia's Tap Oil Ltd. said Thursday.
Field operator Mubadala Petroleum commenced drilling of the MNA-17 well Sept. 3 with the Atwood Orca (400' ILC). Tap Oil reported that the MNA-17 ST1 (AJ) well, drilled to a total depth of 6,508.8 feet (1,983.9 meters) TVDSS (total vertical depth subsea), found 57 feet (17.4 meters) of oil pay in 4 separate reservoirs.
The well will be suspended prior to completion as a multizone production well using electric submersible pump during the upcoming hydraulic workover unit program. MNA-17 ST1 is expected to commence production in November.
Mubadala Petroleum owns a 60 percent interest in the Manora Oil Development, while Tap Oil and Northern Gulf Petroleum Pte Ltd. hold 30 percent and 10 percent stake, respectively.
