Wasco Signs $674M Contract for Nord Stream 2 Project

Malaysia's Wah Seong Corp. Berhad announced Tuesday that its indirect subsidiary Wasco Coatings Europe B.V. (WCEu), based in The Netherlands, has signed a $674 million (EUR 600 million or MYR 2.7 billion) contract with Nord Stream 2 AG for the provision of concrete weight coating and storing of pipes for the Nord Stream 2 Project in Europe.

The company said July 8 that it has won the tender to provide concrete weight coating and store more than 20,000 pipes measuring a total of around 1,491 miles (2,400 kilometers) for the project, which is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2019.

The Nord Stream 2 pipeline, consists of 2 parallel 48 inch lines, each roughly 745.6 mile (1,200 kilometer) long, will deliver gas from south west of St Petersburg in Russia to the German coast near Greifswald.
