Sofregaz/Saipem JV Wins Contract for Fos Cavaou LNG Terminal

Gaz de France has awarded a lump sum turnkey contract to a Joint Venture, of which Sofregaz is the leader, for the implementation of the new LNG receiving terminal to be located at Fos-sur-Mer in the South of France nearby Marseille.

The other partner of the joint venture is Saipem S.A / SN Technigaz.

The contract value of Sofregaz's portion is approximately 180 million Euros and the overall project schedule is thirty-seven months. The scope of the contract includes engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a complete terminal having a regasification capacity of 8.25 billion cubic meters per year, three LNG tanks for a total 330,000 cubic meters storage capacity, marine facilities and all related infrastructures and utilities.

This contract is a new important achievement of Sofregaz which, with the ongoing construction of the terminals of Hazira and Guangdong and the successful start-up of the Bilbao one, is a leading contractor for the EPC implementation of LNG terminals worldwide.
