Malaysia's Wah Seong Corp. Berhad reported Friday that Nord Stream 2 AG has awarded a pipe coating and storing tender to Wasco Coatings Europe B.V. -- its indirect wholly owned subsidiary incorporated in The Netherlands, the company said in a filing on local exchange Bursa Malaysia.
The tender award requires Wasco to provide concrete weight coating and store more than 200,000 pipes measuring a total of around 1,491 miles (2,400 kilometers) for the Nord Stream 2 Project. The contract, subject to final negotiations, will be signed in the coming weeks. Wah Seong will provide the project value when the actual contract has been signed.
Wah Seong said work on the contract is expected to commence in September, with completion scheduled for the third quarter of 2019.
The Nord Stream 2 pipeline, involving two parallel 48 inch lines, each roughly 745.6 mile- (1,200 kilometer-) long, will deliver gas from south west of St Petersburg in Russia to the German coast near Greifswald.
