Carnarvon Petroleum Ltd. disclosed Friday that partner and field operator Quadrant Energy planned to commence its final drilling operations shortly at the Outtrim East-1 well in WA-155-P(1) exploration permit in Australia's North West Shelf.
The final section of the hole will be drilled to a total depth (TD) of around 4,724 feet (1,440 meters), followed by a wireline logging program which is likely to include the use of the Saturn Probe for formation pressure testing and fluid sampling.
Carnarvon said the well is now in the final stage of obtaining 295 feet (90 meters) of core across the Pyrenees and Murion members which will be used for a full evaluation of the reservoir properties. The core will then be transferred off the rig to laboratories for analysis.
The equity interest partners in permit WA-155-P(1) are Quadrant (71.5 percent) and Carnarvon (28.5 percent).
