OGDCL Discovers Gas in Pakistan

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has discovered gas from its exploratory well Thal West #01, which is located in District Sukhur, Sindh Province.

The well was drilled to a depth of 3,983 metres, targeting the hydrocarbon potential of Basal sands in the Lower Goru Formation as a primary objective. The zone initially produced 17.2 million cubic feet of gas through a 36/64" choke.

The discovery has opened up “a new avenue,” according to an OGDCL statement, which will add gas reserves to OGDCL and Pakistan.
