China's Hilong to Install Jackets for Indonesia's Madura MDA-MBH Project

China's Hilong Petroleum Offshore Engineering Co. Ltd. reported Friday that it has secured a contract from Indonesia's PT Timas Suplindo to supply the "Hilong 106" pipelay derrick barge to install jackets for Husky-CNOOC Madura Ltd.'s (HCML) Madura MDA-MBH gas field project offshore Java, Indonesia jointly funded by China National Offshore Oil Corporation and Husky Energy Inc.

Work on the contract, Hilong’s first offshore lifting services assignment as well as its first foreign services deal, will be executed in mid-November. Completion is scheduled by the end of February 2017.

"Hilong Petroleum Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. earned the positive recognition of the client and won the contract thanks to its innovative T&I (transportation and installation) technology, efficient project management team, as well as the inclusive construction solutions offered by the Hilong 106 pipe-laying derrick barge," Xiao Long, Hilong Group vice president and general manager of Hilong Petroleum Offshore EMarine Engineering Co., Ltd. said in the press release.

Separately, Hilong said Friday that the HL-30 drilling team of Hilong Oil Service & Engineering Albania Ltd. has spud Shiprag-3 exploration well in the Albania Block 2-3 owned by Royal Dutch Shell plc with a ZJ90DB drilling rig. This marked the entry of Hilong Oil Service & Engineering Co., Ltd. in the European drilling market and a breakthrough for the firm's expansion into the high-end oilfield services market.
