Government of WA Appoints New Petroleum Minister

The Government of Western Australia Premier Colin Barnett announced Tuesday that Sean L'Estrange has been appointed as the cabinet’s new Minister for Mines and Petroleum.

Since his election to the seat of Churchlands in 2013, L'Estrange has been an active Member of Parliament, according to a government statement. The new petroleum minister is currently the chairman of the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee.

The new cabinet, which includes the appointment of Donna Faragher as the new Minister for Planning and Disability Services and Andrea Mitchell as the new Mental Health and Child Protection minister, will be sworn in on Thursday morning.
