Tempo Australia Appoints CEO Max Bergomi as MD and Board Member

Tempo Australia Limited, an energy and mining sector services firm, disclosed Tuesday that CEO Max Bergomi will take on an additional role as Managing Director and will also join the company's board with effect from March 31, while current Executive Chairman Carmelo (Charlie) Bontempo will step down from his executive role and become non-executive chairman.

"The changes are in line with the Company’s business plan and the implementation of its management strategy and succession planning as it continues to drive its structured growth set against strong governance processes," Tempo said in a press release.

Bergomi will drive and implement Tempo’s growth strategy to provide a differentiated service offering to tier-one clients in the oil and gas, and mineral resources sectors with a focus on productivity, tool-time and safety. He will also handle the day-to-day management and operation of the business.

As Non-executive Chairman, Bontempo will continue to provide his invaluable input and insight at board level as Tempo positions itself for the next phase of growth.

Bergomi, who joined Tempo as CEO Jan. 11, is a highly experienced and successful engineering and oil and gas industry executive with 20 years’ experience. He was previously the Managing Director Australia and PNG (Papua New Guinea) and Managing Director of the Global Commissioning and Brownfield Services Division at Australian engineering and project services contractor, Clough Ltd.

He has a Bachelor of Engineering (Management and Production) from the Politecnico of Milan in Italy, and is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program, from Harvard University in Boston, in the U.S.
