Savannah Commissions Seismic Surveys in Southeast Niger

Savannah Petroleum plc announced Wednesday that it has signed a framework contract with BGP Niger SARL for the provision of seismic acquisition services in southeast Niger.

As part of the agreement, BGP Niger will undertake 2D and 3D land seismic surveys across the R1/R2 and R3/R4 PSC license areas in the West African country. Savannah expects work under the contract to commence in the first half of this year.

An independent assessment of the southwestern part of the R1 area last year identified 14 drill ready oil exploration prospects with total gross unrisked mean prospective resources of 215 million barrels.
