Magseis, BGP Awarded Red Sea Seismic Survey Project

Together with its partner BGP, Magseis has been awarded Saudi Aramco’s S78 project for large-scale ocean-bottom seismic acquisition in the Red Sea.

The project, which has an expected duration of nine months plus one year, is expected to commence during July 2016. Magseis’ OBS vessel, M/V Artemis Athene, will be used for the survey, which features “complicated surface and geological conditions”, according to a Magseis statement.

Commenting on the award, Magseis said on its website:

“The combination of Magseis’ OBS technology and BGP’s transition zone expertise ensured the consortium’s successful bid.”
