Searcher Seismic to Commence Phase 2 of Barents Sea Survey in April

Searcher Seismic will commence Phase 2 of the Silver-Eye Broadband 3D survey in the Barents Sea offshore Norway in April 2016, following the successful acquisition of Phase 1, which comprised 1,028 square miles.

Phase 1 of the survey was completed in September 2015 and data processing revealed “exciting” results for both conventional and unconventional play models, according to Searcher Seismic. Preliminary data from Phase 2 of the project will be made available in November 2016, with final data expected in early 2017.

Jan Gunnar Opsal, country manager for Searcher Seismic, Norway, commented in a company statement:

“Searcher is excited to be expanding our 3D library in the Barents Sea and to offer high quality data for evaluating this area of the Hammerfest Basin in the APA, 2017.”
