Seismic survey firm Polarcus announced Wednesday its participation in a series of projects in Australia and South America.
In Australia, Polarcus will worked with Spectrum ASA and DownUnder GeoSolutions to acquire the Cygnus 3D multi-client seismic survey. This will comprise a minimum of 1,490 square miles of data over the Vulcan Sub-basin, offshore Australia's North West Shelf.
The firm has also received a memorandum of understanding from an undisclosed client for a 3D marine seismic project in South America. This will begin during the first quarter of 2016 and will run for approximately four months.
Polarcus also announced a second South American 3D marine seismic project that will start in in 3Q 2016 and run for approximately four months. The firm said that the most recent contract award means it will have two vessels operating in South America during 2016, acquiring five projects over approximately 14 vessel months.
