Kazakhstan-focused oil and gas company, Roxi Petroleum plc, revealed Thursday that it has encountered well blockages at the A5 and 801 Deep Wells, both of which are located within the BNG asset.
The A5 well flowed oil at a rate of 2,000 barrels of oil per day before becoming blocked by the accumulation of unrecovered heavy drilling in the oil pipe. Currently, oil is being recovered intermittently together with unrecovered drilling fluids, which is preventing unrestricted flow testing operations. The existence of unrecovered drilling fluids has also caused blockages at Deep Well 801, which has also restricted the company’s ability to carry out unimpeded flow testing.
Commenting on the blockages, Clive Carver, Roxi Petroleum chairman, said in a company statement:
"There is increasing evidence of the existence of good quality oil from both our deep and shallow drilling. Our challenge is to clean up our deep wells so the oil can flow unrestricted and the flow tests can be completed."
