Range Resources Ltd Prepares for Production Testing at Well GY 180SE

Range Resources Limited announced Friday that it is preparing for production testing at well GY 180SE, located in Trinidad, after the well encountered hydrocarbon sands and oil shows during drilling operations.

Spudded Nov 4, well GY 180SE reached its total depth of 2,000 feet nine days ahead of the expected 21 day period. The well, which is the first development well drilled by the company on the Beach Marcelle field, will test multiple Middle Gros Morne horizons, as well as a sand unit below one of these Middle Gros Morne sections. This sand has only been penetrated by two wells in the past and Range has stated that “success in testing this horizon will strongly influence future drilling within this fault block”.

The rig used to drill the well will now be moved to spud another development well in the Beach Marcelle field, GY 161 S. This well will be drilled to a total depth of 2,000 feet.
