Nighthawk Energy: Happy Jack 7-10 Well Abandoned

US focused energy company Nighthawk Energy plc announced Friday that the Happy Jack 7-10 well is being plugged and abandoned after no commercial finds were encountered.

The well, which was spud in late October and drilled to a total depth of 8,400 feet, encountered oil shows in the Marmaton and Cherokee zones within the Pennsylvanian section. Following the running of open hole logs to evaluate the potential of the shows, it was determined that there were no zones in the well that would warrant the running of production casing and initiating a completion.

Nigthawk’s last commitment well under its 2015 program, the North Star 1-14, commenced drilling Thursday, November 11. The well is permitted to a total depth of 8,900 feet and is designed to test a structure which appears to be consistent with the company's Keystone 3-7 well, located in the Broken Spear field.
