Range Resources Limited Spuds Second Well of 22 Well Program

Trinidad-focused independent energy company Range Resources Limited announced Monday that the second development well, of the company’s 22 well drilling program, spud Nov 4.

The GY 180SE well, which is expected to take approximately 21 days to reach its target depth of 2,000 feet, will test multiple Middle Gros Morne horizons, according to Range, as well as a sand unit below one of the Middle Gros Morne sections. This sand has only been penetrated by two wells in the past and success in testing this horizon will strongly influence future drilling within this fault block. As announced on November 2, delays in spudding the GY 180SE well were encountered due to additional road approvals needed prior to spudding.

Range also revealed that a vessel carrying three new rigs has docked in Trinidad and that these rigs are expected to be available for drilling during the first quarter of 2016, subject to a number of conditions, including customs clearance, various government and regulatory approvals and availability of suitable drilling staff to operate the rigs.
