The board of directors of Victoria Oil and Gas (VOG) announced Wednesday the appointment of Ahmet Dik as a director of the company, and the new chief executive officer of its wholly owned subsidiary Gaz du Cameroun S.A. (GDC), effective October 27.
Dik, who has been involved with VOG for the past two years, has already played “a vital role” in leading commercial teams within GDC and VOG, according to a Victoria Oil and Gas statement. A lawyer by profession, Dik previously worked on the senior management team of Dominion Petroleum Ltd, which was subsequently sold to Ophir Energy plc.
Kevin Foo, chairman of VOG, commented in a company statement:
“I am delighted that Ahmet has joined us following his invaluable work over the last two years as we have delivered extensive commercial success from our gas operations in Cameroon. Ahmet’s all round technical, legal and people skills make him an excellent person to lead GDC, and in due course VOG, into the next stage of development.”
