Russia's Gazprom May Delay Launch of TurkStream 1st Line until End-2017

ST PETERSBURG, Russia, Oct 7 (Reuters) – Russian energy giant Gazprom may delay the launch of the first line of its TurkStream gas pipeline project until the end of 2017, Alexander Medvedev, the company's deputy CEO, told reporters on Wednesday.

The first line of TurkStream, which should replace Russian gas transit via Ukraine, was previously planned to be launched at the end of 2016.

"This time frame is being postponed now. It depends on how quickly the intergovernmental agreement will be signed. Nothing terrible would happen if it is postponed by one year," Medvedev said in St Petersburg.
