EIC Appoints New President

The Energy Industries Council (EIC) announced Monday that it has appointed Chris Haynes as its new president.

A senior oil and gas industry professional with almost 40 years of experience with the Shell Group and its affiliates around the world, Haynes has worked as an independent consultant in the oil and gas and minerals industries since retiring in 2011. He is a non-executive director of WorleyParsons and Woodside Petroleum, also serving on the health, safety and environment committee of the boards of these companies.

EIC CEO Claire Miller commented in a company statement:

“We are delighted to have a new president with such rich industry knowledge and experience. Chris’ long career in client organization in oil and gas will really complement EIC Chairman Paul Mitchell’s strong background in supplier and contractor management in the power sector. I look forward to working with them both in taking the EIC forward and further supporting our members”
