POE Prepares for Testing Ops at Onshore Akeh-1 Exploration Well in Sumatra

Canada's Pan Orient Energy Corp. revealed that the Akeh-1 exploration well in the Batu Gajah Production Sharing Contract (PSC), onshore Sumatra, Indonesia has been drilled and cased to a depth of 6,069.5 feet (1,850 meters).

"On the basis of open hole wireline logs and formation pressure samples, a decision has been made to test three intervals interpreted as potentially hydrocarbon bearing within the primary target Lower Talang Akar formation," Pan Orient Energy said in a press release.

The operator, which has a 77 percent oeprating interest in Batu Gajah PSC, added that testing is expected to be completed in 14 to 21 days.
