Iraqi PM Visits Lukoil's West Qurna-2 Field

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi has made a visit to the Lukoil-operated West Qurna-2 oilfield, the Russian firm announced late Wednesday.

Al-Abadi held a meeting with Lukoil's management, learned about West Qurna-2 project’s development and visited key production sites, including the central processing facility and gas turbine power plant.

Lukoil said that operations at West Qurna-2 are continuing according to plan and that oil production currently stands at 450,000 barrels per day.

West Qurna-2 is located in southern Iraq, near Basra. Current participants in the field include South Oil Company of the Ministry of Oil of Iraq, Lukoil and Iraqi North Oil Company.
