Dolphin Begins East Campeche Seismic Survey Offshore Mexico

Seismic survey specialist Dolphin Geophysical has begun the East Campeche 2D long-offset multi-client survey offshore Mexico, the firm said Tuesday. It is using the M/V Artemis Arctic vessel for the 11,950-mile survey.

Dolphin said that it plans to deliver the time-processed seismic data from the survey in time for the upcoming first Mexican licensing round. The survey is supported by industry pre-funding.

Andy Phipps, president of Dolphin Western Hemisphere, commented in a company statement:

"Dolphin is very pleased to begin the acquisition of its first survey of this new era in Mexican petroleum exploration. We feel our survey is in a good location to make the most of the licensing rounds that the Mexican authorities have outlined for the next four calendar years."
