Sir Ralph Norris Retires from Origin Energy

Junior energy firm Origin Energy Limited announced Wednesday that its non-executive director, Sir Ralph Norris, will retire before the company’s 2015 annual general meeting.

Origin Energy Chairman Gordon Cairns commented in a company statement:

"The board thanks Ralph for his huge contribution to Origin. He has brought a wealth of financial and management expertise to the board together with a deep knowledge of global business. We will miss him but wish him well.

"The Origin board has in place a succession planning program, so is well placed to manage Sir Ralph’s decision. We would expect to identify a new independent Non- executive Director prior to the 2015 annual general meeting."

Norris joined the Origin board in April 2012. He has held the position of CEO at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and ASB Bank.
